31 more bucks

I should say another 200 bucks in gas, but thats not as fun.  I went yesterday and had my full of the woods.  I saw 19 mulie bucks and 12 whitetail bucks.  I rattled 7 of them in.  I'll get the pics going here shortly.  Not the best picture taking conditions and the subjects weren't beingvery cooperative.  The first thing I did was set up for a rattle.  I smacked the antlers together and within 60 second had a nice buck standing in front of me.  He even held still, but I just didn't have the light.  He even came closer, but not close enough for my little flash.  He left and the second buck came flying through.  I thougt MAN THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY.    Then the next rattling sessions revealed nothing.  It didn't help that it was a weekend and the hunting season is in full swing.  Sooooo...I opted for muley country.  I spotted a HUGE buck, but he only had one antler.  He disappeared, but "his does" were right there.  I waited him out, but nothing.  I went past them and ran into multiple smaller bucks.  I walked back through his country and spotted him again.  Too busy for pics, but I got to look at him.  Somebody shot off his antler I bet.  He was a dandy fellow, probably the best buck of the season.  Somebody was probably sck with themselves over that buck.  I tried to get closer, but he'd been shot at before, and slipped away undetected AGAIN.  I ran into another nice 4, but again, no pics.  I had to shoot off the tripod, and there just wasn't enough time for set up.  The monopod would have worked for timing, but the light stunk.  I went on from there.  I had one more buck fight in front of me, and three more wheezes.  One muley and one whitetail.  More story and pics to follow as soon as the kids are off to school.

I guess the next rattle I did brought in a doe and a small buck.  If you look close, you can see him in the middle in the brush.  He flew by my photo lane and all I got was a blurred pic of him.  Tripod or not, if your subject doesn't hold still.......

okay that didn't work well........the white dot in the center is his tail. go left and inch and up half, and you can pick out an antler looking at you.  He looks miniature in this pic.  This is the typical stuff I am shooting in.  Its very hard.
I didn't get any of ole one antler...The next adventure is I run into a small two point. I tripod up and am about to shoot and out of no where this three point nails him in the a$$.  The two point was watching me and no the buck behind him.  He disappeared and here was MR three point.

That second picture would be a great "Can you find the deer?" for a magazine.  Very hard to see.  Top one almost gives you the willeys.  Something out of Ghost Hunters!

For whatever reason, I just knew there was another buck.  Call it instinct or my own hackles.  I sat and watched thee guys for about 5 minutes.  The beaten three stayed put, and the victore went withhis doe.  Then all of a sudden something started destroying a sage bush just out of site.  HE WAS PISSED.  Here he come.
