Best place to buy boots
« on: September 22, 2023, 09:09:34 AM »
I have been watching for a new pair of boots though I can probably get one more season out of my current pair before they become work boots. What websites do you guys find have the best prices on boots like Crispi, Zamberlan, Kenetrek etc?

https://www.camofire.com/ has Footwear Fridays. Sometimes Cripsi, Salewa, Kenetreks pop up.

Other than that guidefitter.com if you're a vet or 1st responder.

I do watch camofire but it seems like any pairs that spark my interest, they don't have my size. Not a vet or 1st responder

REI garage sale is where you will find the best deal on boots..  9 times out of 10, they are already broken in and they can be 20% of the original price.  I have some plastic Koflach's I bought for $50.  And a number of other very high end backpacking boots over the years.
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

If you find boots other than Crispi on camofire google before you buy, there will usually be a better sale somewhere else. Kenetrek site and Gohunt usually have a good sale once or twice a year. Same for Schnees.

Muley Crazy sells Kennetrek at a competitive price.

I have bought two pairs of Kennetreks off eBay. Both were new or like new at a significant discount.

You can also try https://www.steepandcheap.com/mens-hiking-backpacking-boots but sizes are sparse usually.

REI has some great boot fitting experts.

Be careful what you buy at their Garage Sale, I bought my Vasque GTX's there and first hunting trip to Winthop, it rained two days straight. My brand new waterproof Vasque's (most comfortable boots I have ever owned) leaked badly. I returned them at REI and bought some Asolo GTXs.
A month later I was at their Garage Sale, and there were my boots that I returned because they leaked, on sale for $200. $150 below new cost.
No mention about why they were returned.
I talked with one of the employees, she said all these items are either returned or never sold items.
You can get some great deals at the REI Garage Sale, just be mindful they may have been returned faulty.

Buy around Christmas time. They are all on sale. Sportsman’s had good prices last year.

My wife talked me into going into Goodwill in Maryville with her and I reluctantly went in and found a pair of Danner's in my size that looked brand new for $15.00. I looked them up and they were selling for $320.00. Quite the score!

I'm a fan of Meindl. Generous toe box and decent price for high-end boots. The Vakuum Hunter is $330 a comparable Crispi or Kenetrek is $450 plus. Order online from Meindl directly

As stated above just Google " Zamberlan boots on sale " , or whatever boots obviously.  One time I bought directly from Zamberlan but the next time Cabelas had the best deal. Usually 40-50 % off but timing is the key. Got 50% off in January this year , $ 235 for good boots is a lot easier than $ 470 obviously.  Love my Zamberlan's . Good luck.
