Congrats to her! What I'm confused about is theyre calling the deer a whitetail. I didn't think there were any WT that far west?

If it really was a whitetail in Centralia, it would be a columbian whitetail which is a protected species.  It looks like a blacktail.
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

"After six years of rifle hunting and finally drawing an archery elk tag, she was extra excited for this season" So if my math is correct she was rifle hunting at 7?

Not to mention there is no need to draw an archery permit for that area.

Cool for the kid. Unfortunate the writer didn't fact check better, imo.

This is awesome. An dont be surprised about whitetail.  I live in gold bar an saw 3 last year. Deer don't have boundaries.  Just like where we elk hunt in 340. Your not allowed to shoot a whitetail buck but there are a few good bucks down in the taneum creek drainage.

My daughter shot her first deer at 7. There's no min age in WA.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

 :yeah:
7 for my daughter, 8 for my son when they shot their first.  Both of them had points before they carried a rifle, so it could also be a misunderstanding on the author's part as well.

That's pretty awesome.
