Colville tribe wolf kill

Heard a tribal member killed one on the res that weighed 209 lbs. Kids saw a pic of it and said it was indeed a huge animal. But I think that would be a record.  Also heard the tribe had a bounty on it as it had been raiding livestock.

Owner of Hunters Tavern was showing pics last night I wasn't there, but kids were. Said same guy shot a real stud of an elk also

Good. At least someone is doing something about this destructive problem. We know the state is absolutely worthless to look at for proactive management.

My dad had a picture of one from Alaska(pipeline time) that they killed up around King Salmon. 197. It was a huge wolf! Killed him while fishing greyling. They do get big, depending on diet ;)

My dad and grandpa used to say they “would get big and turn colors” the more fat they ate. Seals, moose etc. the more fat, the darker the coat. It also had an indication of weight. No seals around colville but I bet there’s some moose. ;)

From what I see and hear, the moose numbers around Colville are significantly less than they were just a few short years ago unfortunately! Follow on packs will have to grow big on beef, because we can still grow that population. So frustrating!

I do hope we get to see this wolf at 200 pounds that is more than a bit to imagine. I am glad it is gone if its only 80 pounds.

Wolf was taken on the west side of lake roosevelt. Really not close to Colville.   I'll stop by the Tavern and see if I can get the pic.  My kids who saw the pic said it was huge and black
