How many fps on average can you gain shooting the same arrow at 60# then turning your bow up to 70#

you might gain 20-30fps, but make sure the arrows are properly spined for 70lbs.

If the arrow weight stay's the same you will gain or lose 1.5fps per. lb.
but if you drop arrow weight with lbs they stay the same you might lose 1-2fps.
so if you shoot a 70lbs 420grain arrow at 280fps
and then you shoot 60lbs 360grain arrow it will be 278-280fps.

lets say you shot 70lbs with a 420grain arrow
it will shoot 280fps
and now you shoot 60lbs..THE ARROW WEIGHT STAYS THE SAME...420grain
you will lose sorry its just 0ver 2 fps per less lb....so you are shooting 10lbs less you will lose about 22fps
if you drop 5lbs you will lose 10-11fps

so going the other way from 60# to 70# shooting the same arrow i should gain about 22fps.I am a newbie to archery so thank you for the info.

yes...what arrow are you shooting? 340 or 400. and what lenght of arrow and tip 100 or 125? I will see if it is still spined for yorur bow at 70lbs....Why are you uping the lbs to the bow?

you could always get longer arms. a longer draw would give you something like 11fps per inch.

Now this is with two different bows, both mathews (dxt vs switchback).  Obviously the dxt is newer and has better technology, but I only dropped 6 fps when i went from a 70lb bow to a 60lb bow.  If you want to maintain speed and draw less you should look at the dxt, reeson, or monster.  I shoot a 60lb dxt with a 444gr arrow at 260 fps.  That equates to approx 67 ft/lbs of energy.

My arrows are 29in. 100grain tips carbon express maxima 350.I believe the spine is 340 idont know why they call them 350.Total arrow wieght 409.I am upping the poundage because last time i had it chronoed it was only shooting 244fps and i am going to add tubing to my peep sight cause there is always a strand in the way.The kenetic energy is just over 54# and i would like more if i can to get pass thrus on elk.I know i dont need to get pass thrus to take an elk but 2 holes is better than 1

not to be picky but not all that true ...when you back off your bow the limbs come out and the draw lenght is now longer if your draw is now 1/2" longer you gain 5-6 fps. 1/4" you gain 3-4fps  Cams do not perform better than other cams at different lbs. Now some cams will perform better than others at different draw lenghts ,most cams lose 10-12 per 1" of draw lenght and then some will only lose 8-10 and just like others 12-14
yes there are a lot of good bows out now that we dont' have to pull alot of lbs to get good speeds
with bow like the monster, 82nd and the X-force
with a X-Force at 28" draw 60lbs with your 444grain arrow it will do 273fps with 74ft/lbs of energy
but you can drop your arrow weight to 400grains and shoot 287fps with 73.5 ft/lbs of engery
now I would rather shoot 60lbs at 287 with a 400grain arrow. the same thing with the Monster

at 29" and 350 that arrow will be good with that arrow you can only go to 68lbs you have to be 6 grain per lbs
so 6x68=408 you arrow weight. adding tubing to your peep will slow you down 2-4
I shot about that same set up in Idaho 3 years ago and killed a 6pt bull with it no pass thru but the bull went down 80-100 yards its still about shot placement.
