Hmm  Your stirrups were turned.  Maybe they were too long.  Sometimes they make them too long so that it's easier to mount.  Or maybe you need more practice.

That was son in law in pics but definitely need more practice that was his first time on a horse and I hadn’t been on one since last time 15 yrs ago
I didn’t notice the turned stirrups but I’m no horse guy😂👍
