2023 BC Moose
« on: October 15, 2023, 08:36:35 AM »
Was invited on a moose hunt to BC by a friend. What a wild place! Wolves were especially bad this year which really locked up the bulls and kept them out of most open areas. Never much of a trophy hunter I was looking for a fun and new experience while seeing new country. Told myself I would be ecstatic with a bull with formed paddles and at least 30”, especially after seeing how tough conditions were. What I connected with was exactly that and I couldn’t be happier! Grizzly encounters, wolves, lots of black bears, great friends and lots of laughter made for one hell of a trip! These moose are MASSIVE!! I was more shocked on their mere size when I walked up on my bull than anything else. 474 pounds of just meat, which I will enjoy with my family for quite some time!
Thought I’d share- hope you all have a successful year and full freezers!

Had tags for a black bear but was more focused with making sure my friends got moose first. Never saw a wolf, but heard them a lot…sure we could have called them out but again…was focused on moose

Great looking Bull Josh.   Moose hunting is getting tougher these days due to wolves and other factors.
Way to get it done

Nice bull. I think I got my bull in BC on same day you got yours. They are big animals. When I took it to butcher in prince george 4 quarters weighed 648 lbs.
