I was able to fight off the deer and bear and salvage a few of the late apples to make a small batch of applesauce to can up.

Twisp, not to derail your awesome canning, what is the blue flowing tree in this shot?

I looked back through the pictures and I think it's just a hanging flower basket above the porch rail I use for cooling the jars

Thanks, that makes sense. It looks like Lobelia, common in pots. I was hoping it was a blue flowering tree, not many exist, LOL.

Twisp are you doing new rings on all your jars? They all look immaculate.

I did replace a lot of the bands this year. I'll say that about 50% of the jars got new tops and I finally trashed some of the rusty, hard to open rings.

I always toybwith the idea of new rings to replace the rusty hard to twist ones but then I price out replacing them all and decide they're probably fine one more year

I bought a whole case of large mouth lids and bands this year so I had plenty to use and probably used six boxes. For the small mouth jars I just high graded what I had and will probably have to buy some before next season.

After a short morning hunt, I picked some grapes and made a batch of jelly. This should be it for the season. I started with rhubarb and a couple hundred jars later I finished with the grapes.
