Is the Price of Gas keeping you home this year?
« on: October 06, 2023, 08:28:40 PM »

Hi Everyone,   :hello:
Question: Is the Price of "Gas" keeping you home this year?  Is the price of low fur prices keeping you home this season?

Is anything keeping you home or are you going out anyway this season.
I sure hope you get out this season and nothing is holding you back.

I've seen this show before just like a lot of us old guys.  Things are always changing, hang in there.

I'll be out every day been getting all my traps ready for the past two weekends. New to the area I'm living in goldbar so time to get out now and start scouting areas.

No!  But it is hitting the bank account.  Live frugally until hunting season.

No but we are taking the gas truck instead of the diesel to Montana. Diesel is quite a bit more…. for now

Suspect it was fuel prices, but the amount of hunters around my place has been down considerably.   The normal parade of road hunters and camps is way down.  Hunting has been tough mostly, lots of does and fawns , but bucks seem to be still in the move at night mode.  Have 20-30 that hang around the house usually with a couple of small bucks, but no horns this year. Kids have seen six bears, two lions and two big bull moose though. None of the bears or lions have presented a shot. But both moose did

Nope, I am more into it this year than ever before, hopping for a great year.  But lol... running the trap line with a Prius to save on gas, trap line is limited to rds a Prius can drive, so if you see a guy trapping out the back of a Prius it's probably me ;). Fingers crossed.

Hi everyone,   :hello:
Well price of gas is coming down hopefully more by the end of the year.

As for me, I'll be missing this trapping season, not because of fuel prices but I am heading into surgery tomorrow the 8th for bypass surgery.
I'm pretty sure I'll be in recovery mode for a few months, but never know I might make it out for some spring trapping.

I want to encourage all of you to get out there this season and grab some fur before the season ends and the WCO folks take what you could have had.
Bring a friend, neighbor, brother, sister out with you and show and teach them what you do.  Introduce a young kid into the great outdoors.

Take care and have a great season.
