Hi, all.
I drew the buck tag for the Palouse units this year. I admittedly had a Wyoming hunt that took most of my prep focus than this hunt and folks that I know that live on that side of the state or spend time over there cautioned me about blue tongue and deer numbers- a couple of my friends turned in their tags.
I did not have the time to make a drive over there to knock on doors. I like hunting new areas and don't mind just diving into whatever public I can find mid-season and figuring it out as I go. Of course, access over there makes that tactic trickier, for sure.
I am wondering if anyone who has had the tag in the past and used the hunt by reservation properties would be willing to point me in the right direction for whitetail. I still have to get lucky and get the reservations done when they become available.
I'm continuing to research on my own, but figured I would ask. Between limited time outside of season, other hunts, blue tongue and overlapping hunt opportunities closer to home, I won't be heartbroken if I can't make the hunt work. But I would love to get my first whitetail and check out some new areas!
I believe in sharing meat amongst my hunting party- I'll be doing this hunt solo and would definitely have meat to share with anyone who contributes some info! PM's welcomed.
Thanks in advance-
