Big river puddle duck long lines
« on: October 22, 2023, 08:44:09 PM »
Years past we have had to pay very close attention to the dogs and the long lines in the current. This year we changed up our droppers. Still 3’ but we added an 4oz egg weight, while still retaining the clip. This keeps the dropper more vertical, the main line deeper, as we run angles in the current. And the best thing is, they can be used as Texas rigs. Multifunctional…. Game changer so far…

I found the weights to be PIA and just use a leaded main. This is on my downstream diver rig. Stiff but zero issues.

No more a pain in the ass the Texas rigs and same decoys and rigs used for either, no changing anything. Have a great season all. We have 7 days on the river for our group of three.  so far and buddies 1 yo lab pup has 147 retrieves under his belt. And you can see the progression every trip. Just sits intensely watching.  Very well mannered
