Great morning on the prairie
« on: October 21, 2023, 05:06:39 PM »
Had a great morning hunting a slough on the prairie this morning. Shooting light opened @ 7:30 & at 9:30 we had both our limits & were loading stuff back in the pickup. It was Haley’s first hunt in her momarsh dog blind & she likes it. By the end of the hunt she was launching herself out of it through the reeds/cattails & hitting the water on the other side. She’s starting to figure out that in duck hunting the birds fall from the sky! She’s happy as Christmas.

Very cool pics!
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

It looks like a whole lot of fun.    Not your typical "duck weather", but it sure makes it nicer in the blind, at least until the mosquitos wake up.

Thanks. We get more blue sky days than not here. Yesterday the temp started out in the low 40s & warmed up a bit from here, so it was a really pleasant day. The wind had some bite to it, but you don’t notice that when you get settled into the reeds & cattails

I'm jealous. I worked today...and don't have a dog. My cats can retrieve but only when they want. Nice pics.
