Another lesson
« on: October 30, 2023, 08:24:21 AM »
I've always said one of the reasons I do photography is that its a lot harder to take a good photo of something than it is to shoot it.   i had a really good shot of this guy, but a switch was bumped on my lens so it wouldn't focus.   by the time i figured it out, he started moving away.  Unlike most whities, he paused for a second time.  This time my settings were bumped in my camera and i was shooting about 4 steps higher than it was supposed to.   i fixed that and he was on the move again. dang if he didnt stop again.  i finally got a focus on him through the brush and trees.   The 06 would have finished him off long ago.

You always take great pictures. Thank you for sharing. I always struggle with blurred images even when using a tripod. I used to blame the camera, but I have realized it is the operator.

Bone,
Do you have a thread on good outdoor camera gear?
I'm considering making the switch.
Thanks

No I haven’t. It changes so much, I feel I’m learning, lol.   Everything is going mirrorless. I just dumped my good camera into the swimming pool this summer so I’m learning fresh.   :bdid:

It's hard to believe you're human and make mistakes like the rest of us mortals  :chuckle:  Of course you still get the good shots! That's a beautiful buck, and I like him framed inbetween the two trees. Thanks for sharing
