Methow tagholder meetup?
« on: November 02, 2023, 08:18:06 AM »
I'll be in the valley all next week with a Gardner tag in my pocket.  Would any tagholders (or others) be interested in meeting up for a beer one evening?  We could compare notes, celebrate success or cry in our beer.  Given the state of the herd, option 3 might be the most likely.

Early indications for this year are positive so there is some hope! My friend's father (76) has the late Chewuch and they turned up some dandies in scouting earlier this week. Haven't relocated them yet now that its open. They were all pretty low elevation out in the sage and buckbrush.

The son is on here and I will let him speak to a meet up. That said, I bet you will find a good one!

Dave, I'm not a tag holder but do you have the whitetail or the mule deer tag?

I also have a Gardner tag and I'll be headed up on Sunday. I'm staying Twisp.

Outhouse - I've got the mule deer tag

KDB - Maybe I'll run into you.   Good luck!

Myself and a buddy drew chewuch as a group. We get there tomorrow. Staying in Winthrop, will inevitably hit three finger jacks a few times.

There's a three fingers Jack in Winthrop?

No way......

My dad, Jack, became three fingers Jack in a machining accident.
I'm gonna need to find this place.
I'm headed to Winthrop tomorrow.

Easy to find
It’s right at the four way stop where Hwy 20 hits down town.

There didn't seem to be much interest in a meetup, so I never followed up on this.   If enough guys are interested, how about 3 Finger Jack's tonight (Thursday)?  6:30?

I passed up a shot on a big one 5 minutes into my weeklong hunt Monday morning.  It was raining hard, my glasses were fogged up a bit and the range was longer than I'm used to.  And it was dawn on my first day.  Since then, I've been seeing a fair number of does and small bucks but nothing tag worthy.  How's everyone else doing?

I saw very little.  I finally left town for greener pastures.

Used to be a very cool place, I haven’t been there in awhile.  I’m not sure how old your son is, but it’s a bar/dining, so family can go to. (Used to anyway)
