Drawn for big bull Part 2
«
on:

Now for those that read my post about my first elk here is a storey about my dads 6th elk and second draw from where my bull was taken. One thing to remember is my bull was the biggest ever taken out of our group of 14,over the years they started hunting in 1960 for elk, I came along hunted spike a couple years, meanwhile like everyone else I was applying for big bull tags.My bull was in 2004,radio collar, ear tag,321. In 2007 my dad was drawn a second time for the best hunt washington has to offer unless you have $65,000 laying around. The started oct,1,here we go again , this time the road is washed out so off we go from there. We reach our spot, opening day a bull is bugling off in the distance ,as my dad worked his down a 5 point crosses in front of him, passes on it,cause he has seen what lies beyond. The fog so thick now you cant see 10 yards, but the herd bull is bugling and rounding up some cows. Finally around 8:30 am he can see the elk but the bull is still busy with cows,ok now things slowdown alittle the bull wanders off alittle from the cows he has a good opportunity boom..... silence, elk scatter the big bull goes down. Now heres the hard part for me ,I had the biggest bull until now remember mine scored 327 7/8,his scored 328 1/8 ,The teacher out does his student ,another great hunt ,truly these times with my father will always be cherished and he does deserve to have the biggest bull, love you dad !!!
