Democrats had a very good day on Election Day it sounds. They are developing a very strong culture while people like my former hunting partner are dissolving our once very strong hunting culture at a rapid rate.

Should be a wake up call before it is too late because we still have some time but unfortunately many like him afraid to admit they are wrong in their choices with lack of experience to understand.

It's never been easier to start hunting than right now which is why we have so many people being self taught from all walks of life.  The internet is full of information, smart phones and all the tools available.

I hunt solo all the time for waterfowl and big game.  I see a bunch of solo hunters out there as well, it can be done with a reasonable level of safety.

I do believe the overall percentage of Americans that hunt is likely decreasing, but if it wasn't for the self taught and solo crowd, it would be collapsing.

This article mentions the fishing industry could be in jeopardy as well which is serious business.  In a nutshell solo is not going to do it and people with disposable income have to get involved and introduced or we are going to be kicking rocks if we keep ours heads in the sand like my former hunting partner does towards other hunters it sounds according to the article.

Not mentioned in article but YouTube and other self taught websites make it look too easy and don’t tell the whole story leaving the unexpected very disappointed when they try the real world for most.  Also if it was that easy my former hunting partner would not of told me to go knock on doors while he tagged along with his new friends doing all the work for him.

how long are you going to keep blaming your "former hunting partner " for you not taking responsibility for yourself and get out and do some hunting ?  You have 2 options brother-keep bitching about him and staying home or take some initiative and get out and do it

That is 5-10 minutes of my life I will never get back.   :bash: :bash: :bash:

It's times like this where tough love is what you need.  If I was your hunting partner and you acted like you are on this post.....I would have kicked you to the curb a long time ago.  You really need to get over it.  It sounds like a bad divorce on a Kardashian's episode.  Holy buckets....man!!!  Life is way to short for this kind of drama or set back because your hunting partner left you.

I wish you the best in moving past this.

At least you are thinking but it’s more of and example of personal experiences how hunters are treating other hunters that does no good for our sport on how things are going for us.  You don’t say my former is helping the sport of hunting either.  What did you think of the article?

Unfortunately many are being removed from hunting for many reasons but not being replaced.  We just have to watch our behavior to not speed up but instead reverse the current trend for the good.

You don’t even know me and you would kick me to the curb shows the unfortunate truth of what I’m talking about how hunters are treating other hunters.  Not much I can do about it other than hope someday we will get the culture back.

I'll tell you what I think of the article...if you want to make his actions keep you from going hunting put your gear up for sale in the classified section on this forum. Someone with initiative will buy it.  Or suck it up and get out and quit bitching about how he is keeping you from hunting.  Unfortunately I think I know what the answer will be.  Done with this thread.  Good hunting

This thread is locked for now. Going nowhere in a hurry.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
