I hunt public land and have incredible hunts every season. I bring folks out every year just to show them the bounty. I very much miss my father who got me into the outdoor sports. Only serious complaining you'll get from me in waterfowling is that damn job taking up so much good time. I'd be happy to drag yer butt out for a stellar shoot if it would rekindle that lost intetest.
My cousin’s boy asked me about hunters ed and getting into duck hunting with me and my former partner which he doesn’t know what has happened. The kid is still a few years away but time flies because haven’t hunted in two years and no license purchase last year.

Maybe it will help you rekindle your desire for hunting and if not, at least you will have the opportunity to help pass hunting onto the next generation. The spot your former partner posted pics of is not "his" spot as its public land, so just make sure to be there before him.
Where are you and the youngster located? We hunt the eastside several times a year, so maybe we can work something out to get you guys out there too. Everything costs something, so look at it as though you got to pay to do what you enjoy. I spend way too much on playing outdoors and look at it as I can only do what I enjoy so often, but I can always make more money. Here's to hoping you get the kid out in the field and make some great memories.
Really confused here. You won't hunt because of his poor decisions? Is he the only human you know? Sounds as though there is more going on here than just 'hunting partners'. Really, it does. Find some new areas and enjoy.
Not buying it. I can literally ask, out loud at work, who wants to go hunting, and have a partner in seconds. Do it many times every season. Jst ask here.
Let it go bud
I don't know. Seems more crowded then ever these days when I go hit public lands. Not to mention the booming corn pond duck factories.
You are in eastern Washington. The Columbia river is massive and holds a lot of birds. Go find your spot.
Well, sounds as though you are doomed with no resolution in sight. Take up golf and enjoy.
OP i highly disagree. Our sport is gaining in popularity.

Take up golf and enjoy.Still early but I did what you said and ask with no interest from others. Not easy like I said because this is not my first rodeo. Just showing how hard it is for a solo to start today. We forget because how much easier it was for us back then instead of putting ourselves in their shoes. Anyways we need to stick together instead of giving up on others in our sport. https://apnews.com/article/biden-guns-mass-shootings-kamala-harris-e4ae51704d1e065fef0fb656043d6cf0High light from article, “first-ever federal office of gun violence prevention, which will seek to find ways around congressional inaction to stem rising violence.”
Democrats had a very good day on Election Day it sounds. They are developing a very strong culture while people like my former hunting partner are dissolving our once very strong hunting culture at a rapid rate. Should be a wake up call before it is too late because we still have some time but unfortunately many like him are afraid to admit they’re wrong and lack of experience to understand.
This article mentions the fishing industry could be in jeopardy as well which is serious business. In a nutshell solo is not going to do it and people with disposable income have to get involved and introduced or we are going to be kicking rocks if we keep ours heads in the sand like my former hunting partner does towards other hunters it sounds according to the article. Not mentioned in article but YouTube and other self taught websites make it look too easy and don’t tell the whole story leaving the unexpected very disappointed when they try the real world for most. Also if it was that easy my former hunting partner would not of told me to go knock on doors while he tagged along with his new friends doing all the work for him.https://www.outdoorlife.com/why-we-are-losing-hunters-and-how-to-fix-it/

You have 2 options brother-keep bitching about him and staying home or take some initiative and get out and do it
That is 5-10 minutes of my life I will never get back. It's times like this where tough love is what you need. If I was your hunting partner and you acted like you are on this post.....I would have kicked you to the curb a long time ago. You really need to get over it. It sounds like a bad divorce on a Kardashian's episode. Holy buckets....man!!! Life is way to short for this kind of drama or set back because your hunting partner left you. I wish you the best in moving past this.

You don’t say my former is helping the sport of hunting either. What did you think of the article?
