NEW Style-BIG Blacktail!
« on: November 15, 2023, 11:50:55 AM »
Been cooking up this idea for some time. This type of mount is called ‘Wall-Art Taxidermy’ and is seen in some African animals in the taxidermy world. I bought one of these forms years ago for an antelope with the plans to try it with a deer, in particular a blacktail. Took a rack of my own, chose a spare blacktail cape, and highly modified a deer form change-out head to work with the antelope form. Surrounded the set with some Pacific Northwest cedar trimmed and gave it a light burn and here’s the finished product. Super happy how it turned out.
Best of luck to the late buck hunters tomorrow!
