Late Rifle Benchleg Success
« on: November 20, 2023, 10:40:01 AM »
I normally have a deer archery tag but got a rifle tag this year with the intent of taking my 5 year old for the first year. I was pretty excited when the draw results came out and I saw "Selected" for my first choice for quality deer. I still thought I might be able to go out with my son for a day or two during the 10 days I was planning on hunting, but my 10 day hunt turned into a 2 day hunt. My kids have been asking for a kitty, so Day 1 they got their wish and I brought home a kitty cat  :chuckle: On day 2 I found this guy and and was happy to put my tag on him. After initially spotting him at 1500 yards, things got close and personal and I ended up taking the shot at 50 yards.

I've seen plenty of cats, but always jumping across logging roads into timber or jack firs, while driving.  I'd love to see one in a situation where I could get a reasonable shot off.
