Best E Bike on the market?
« on: November 23, 2023, 06:44:11 PM »
So many choices and price ranges on E bikes right now.  Anyone with experience know which bike is the best for the money?

If you ate familiar or heard if Rad Rover look into Aventon Adventure 2. Better bike in every way and similar price point. Those 2 bikes are rear hub.

My buddy has an M2S All terrain ultra and likes it a lot. It is a mid drive and more money but still way less than the Quietkat, Bakcou, Rambo bikes. I will be going with an M2S most likely.

M2S also has a rear hub all terrain that is similar in price to the Rad and Aventon. I think the rear hub all terrain is on sale for $1400 which is $700 off.

If you plan to use it in hilly terrain or are going to be gaining significant elevation regularly in your riding I would recommend selecting a mid drive bike. They are more efficient on battery usage and power distribution. A mid drive will feel like it pulls you along almost floating while a rear hub will feel like it is pushing you along. Significant elevation gain will be harder on a rear hub motor and "could" damage or shorten the life vs a mid drive. I have owned both mid drive and rear hub and I currently run a converted bike I built with a Bafang mid drive kit. The M2S Ultra HD is a great choice and I shopped it before I built my current bike. If I were to build another bike I would select a hardtail frame with 29" tires, front shocks and hydro disc brakes. *My current bike pictured below.

I have the backou  mule. 1000 watt. Biggest battery they make. I have ridden many other bikes Aventon being 1 of them. Nothing i have been with will  keep up or battery last as long. Mine is mid drive bafang. Wellworth the price in my opinion. Been in some really ugly, steep rough terrain. Handled it like a dream. All i can say about E bikes is you dont know what you dont know. You owe it to yourself to be patient. Pm me if you want to ride mine.

Thoughts on fat tire (4.5”) vs like a 3” sport tire?

If you plan on riding on dirt/gravel, I would suggest a fat tire bike. I have ridden both and the fat tires are way more stable.

Tons of variables. On a stout e bike no reason not to go with the wides.
