WY elk non-res changes
« on: January 03, 2024, 07:51:05 PM »
Wyoming non resident elk changes divide the state in to three different regions. Eastern, Western, and Southern.

Proposed quotas: 500 for eastern, 1050 for southern, and 2775 for western.

What do u think will be the good, the bad, and the ugly? Decrease hunting pressure in some areas? Odds of drawing increase/decrease depending on the region?

I’ll be applying this year, for the first time with a buddy. 6 points will be our average.

Considering the cost of the special tag is now almost $2K, its anyone's guesses how the draw odds are going to be this year.

It's going to be anyones guess this year with the two major changes. And it will take a few years of guys knee jerk reacting to the previous years wacky statistics before it will settle down and anyone will be able to make true and accurate predictions. With 13 points this year I am not sure what to do.

Will a percentage of the NR tags still be set aside for a random draw?
