Clubber Lang
« on: November 26, 2023, 06:11:55 PM »
Modern firearm SW Washington
Opening day was a rainy SOB
Sunday after opener was beautiful
Before legal shooting time we are sitting and glassing, we see 2 elk on the tree line
Can’t tell if its just 2 cows but the color on one made us move up to get a better angle
Minutes after legal shooting the lucky hunter saw that one had a big rack and my pards son made great one shot kill at about 150 yds
We moved down slope as he had dropped him in swampy low spot and we couldn’t see him until we got down parallel to him
As the lucky hunter walked in on him I heard a holy chit followed by he’s legal as he saw the spike club side first and was momentarily surprised as we never saw the club until the recovery and he knew he was a legal elk when he decided to take him
Super cool old bull 6X 1+
We started calling him Clubber Lang
Pretty cool euro in process
First elk harvested
He’s a member on here Little Stu
Good job bud 👍

Kids a good hunter bud
He killed a nice one last year in Montana and a POS stole it out from under us before we got to it after he dropped it in its tracks
So this is his first harvested

Yeah I guess they are from different areas. I didn't see that this was a Washington bull. I saw the Montana comment and thought Bob Marshall area. That's where the bull I posted came from. Not my bull, I got it from a guy on this site who was moving out of the country and couldn't take it. Must be a typical result from an injury though.

Both elk are cool.

Had a pilot in my first command who’s last name was Lang, call sign clubber. So I googled it after reading this post. Now I understand his call sign 30 plus years later.🤣
