Take a couple kids fishing?
« on: November 30, 2023, 10:01:54 AM »
A work buddy from way back in the day recently passed from cancer. They've only been fishing a couple times, and I'm hoping to find someone willing to take a couple kids (8, 14) and their mom salmon fishing next summer. I'll happily pay for gas. Just a day to show them some fun and keep their mind off the obvious. Or if a guide is willing to cut a deal to help out. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Maybe negotiate a price with a commercial fishing guide who is known on Hunt-WA.......preferably on a 6-pack type boat (so the kids get more help and assistance) and probably get their limit. Then do a fund raiser here. Set things up so they have a good chance at success.

If our schedules work out next summer I would be more then willing to take them out for the day.  I own and operate fin-natic fishing.  We mostly fish halibut out of la push until July.  Then I move down to ilwaco for tuna.  But I could certainly take them out early july.

Always got free seats on my boat. Summer is mostly Wesport which could be a stretch. Springers on the big C is always an option. Slow and boring but dry and warm. MA13 will pick up late spring. Gimmee a holler then

OOOOOOH Yes he did !!  I arrived at the boat launch , parking area at daybreak , just in time to watch fish n feathers cuff n stuff two toothless hicks for camping over night , even though there's a sign as big as my sameri, that says NO OVER NIGHT CAMPING !! But that's probably why they figgered it was a great place to enjoy some hillbilly heroin ,fish n feathers and his just as well dressed counterpart , Johny law , had all there illegal toys neatly arranged on the hood of his fancy shiny car you and I supplied him , WOW ! a lot of trinkets there , ANYWAYS ,,, we headed down the trail to our spot , we were there about two hours and what heard just couldn't be true , but as usual I was correct , a FREEKN 9ft. Tall drill Sargent sounding neanderthal was guiding 5 little kids down the trail , and that trail only goes to one spot ,I knew the comfort of the quiet enjoyable day was coming to a end ,he's got 5 kids , 5 chairs , 5 backpacks , and yep !!! 5 poles , he sets up his cannery business about 25 feet from me and I'm just waiting for the generator and neon sign to show up , this guy sets up 6 poles in minutes , gives official orders to the troops in Russian , and they acted like they just got out of fish processing camp and had baited and casted there poles , and were in there chairs very quickly , I don't know what they feed those worms there using , but it's fish on every ten minutes. Mr. 9ft. Is butn n gutn fish as fast as he can , I'm telling you guys this is a well oiled machine !! In about 3 hours , they figgered the buckets were full enuff I guess , and they trooped off with a ton of fresh meat flesh , to this day it's known as the Sunday fish factory story , but this dude brings a whole different meaning to take a couple kids fishing , we cought 4
loction location location ! perzackly !

Let me see what I can do. I typically take out ministry leaders and their kids. But, I may be able to find an opportunity for them to jump on my boat this summer. Or, maybe get them connected with a good buddy who's a guide down on the Columbia by Woodland.
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5
