I'm no cougar expert but I believe at least one of those cats is fairly young based upon the stripes that are visible on the inside of their front legs but lack of body spots? I'm curious what anyone else thinks?

Good luck if you get after them. I've been trying this winter for the first time and have really enjoyed it but I wish I still had some snow on the ground! I'm still going though and hope to get at least 2 or 3 more days before the season closes down.

There are both yearling mother probably was killed earlier this year.

The stripes on the front inside left leg had me curious also. They are both the same size basically. One is maybe a little bigger but not much. Both are similar in size to the mule deer that were on the hillside. So tough to tell. Hoping we can whack one or both tomorrow. There will be three of us there with tags.

I saw tue barring as well, and am curious. But i know that trail cams and ir especially can distort colors or shading. Looking at the cat i killed in sept sometimes it looks the same but inspecting the hide there is no distinguishable marks.
