Great write up, better reality. Would want to be you; would only want to be your buddy after the fact. He has big kahunas hanging in there as the cat charged him.

Like others said, huge cat and the true weight makes us all do a reality check on size.

Reading the rest of this has been great to say the least. We should all be putting in the most effort we can, and kill more poorly managed predator species. Cheers!

Very nice, congrats and that cat appears to have been eating quite well.

According to the tooth this was a two year old cougar.

FYI I was at my cabin this weekend and have another one on camera about the same size two miles north of where this one was shot. Another slightly bigger cat about a mile east from this one and a much smaller cat about a mile west.

Oh and a pack of nine coyotes running together came in at night last night.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Thats a lot of cats in close proximity. Those things will put a smack down on deer in that turf. There’s a couple spots we knew of in the Methow that had multiple cats prowling about 5 or 6 years ago, we physically seen 4 different cats in about a 2-5 mile radius. We seen them in September, by the end of October that turf was null and void of any deer activity, we didn’t even see deer tracks in that turf when snow was on the ground in November/December.

Once again, great job👍

Surprising size difference between male and female at that age. Did they say if that was average size for a 2 year old male?

I'd be talking with my neighbors around your cabin to get/give permission to shoot predators.  :twocents:
