Walked a cougar down

This is one of the coolest stories I've seen on here. Always been a goal to walk down a big kitty when I lived in WA. Didn't happen.

My buddy found these today on my property in the draw but lower in elevation from the cliffs the cat had been bedding in. Small cow elk carcass( had ivories) and buck carcass.

That’s why he had such a big belly on him. The deer and elk around your place are definitely going to get through the winter easier now. Hopefully a new cat doesn’t move in now that he is gone

Yes sir. We have stumbled onto many of these graveyards, we ran into one in the north part of the Methow that 26 different caches were discovered. Mostly small deer but there were some bucks, three I believe. For those who don’t believe cats are the number one problem, I would respectfully disagree.

I have heard that as well and will be targeting those areas that I learned about on this hunt.

There are still three cats really close to this spot, one of them a young cat.

Talked with a fella who’s killed a few cougars, apparently they will smell “death” in areas, kind of like a house cat will find a mouse or rat kill. When we found those cache sites we told him. His questions were when and how old. We had pictures. He was back in there and killed a pretty good cat. Another one he killed that winter, he killed it coming out of a hay bail in a pasture. My buddy and his son went to the bail, 2 deer buried in there, covered up like a couple turds(his words). The bail was about a mile from the the “grave yard”. Give em hell Rainier. 👍👍
