Are you guys thinking whitetail or mule deer hunting? I know they have whitetails, but man do they have some monster muleys as well!

Well crap, now you went and put that in my head!!   :chuckle: Man, I'm not sure now.  I know my buddy was thinking whitetails, but for me it would have to be a Monster white over a big mule deer.  Both are on my wish list, but I bet my odds are better of taking a monster whitey in Wa than a huge mule deer.  So, I'd prob lean towards the big mule deer in Canada.

Me too...I've seen pictures, mounts, and heard stories from friends that have hunted Mule deer up there. If I was planning a hunt for a big mule deer, Saskatchewan would be at the top of the list!!! Hope you find a good outfitter. My friend gained access to hunting up there through a connection at his work. I haven't been able to hint (beg) well enough to get to tag along one of these years. Fingers crossed I'll get to hunt there someday.

Note...Friend hunts Alberta, not Saskatchewan

I don’t think there is non resident hunting in Saskatchewan…. Only on reservations. It sounds like those hunts are definitely not what you’re looking for. I’m not 100% positive, I just started researching hunts up there. Alberta has a lot to offer for hunts though.

:yeah:
Little to no mule deer hunting for nonresidents but lots of whitetail opportunity. Alberta would be the place to go for mule deer specific hunts.

Maybe I am FOS, Thought my friend was hunting Saskatchewan. Maybe they hunt Alberta? Which would be pretty ok with me! Love seeing Canadian prairie bucks. There must be a good place to hunt east of Calgary or Edmonton...

Note...They hunt Alberta

For whitetail, I think you get a better value in Alberta.   At least in my research.  I’m headed north in ‘24!

You got an outfitter picked out yet? I’ve been researching heavy, it’s hard for me to go whitetail because I suck at sitting in a stand…. The spot and stalk of a mulie is more appeasing.

You should be able to find a place that does both WT/mulie and then hunt what ever floats your boat.

Big muledeer are gona cost more money, personally feel giant whitetails are harder to kill...both are killer animals when they have age

I haven’t signed a contract yet, but have narrowed it down.

Probably have it booked in the next week or two.

This is a first for me, so hesitant to recommend anything until I’ve seen it first hand.  I’ll post something on here after the hunt.
