This is definitely the hardest trapping season I’ve ever had. It’s a ghost town, we put out a few weasel boxes out today just to hopefully get little action. Zero snow, now on my line at 4000+’. Todays check was nothing but springing all my sets, then chipping off 1/2” of ice that was covering them. I guess at the end of the day it’s still way better than being at work 😂

One thing I did do at all my sets today was use a predator call with a dying rabbit sequence for about 5 min plus. Almost got eaten by an ermine in the process. I turned it on when I was working over my sets getting the ice off them. When I turned back around there he was at about 5’ looking at me. And yes I put a weasel box out at this set afterwards 😂

Haven’t been posting much, deep snow had us down for a bit. Fun check today, seemed like every set had something in it. Girls had a blast!

No marten, only real attempt I’ve made for them are leaning poles or boxes around my cat cubbies. Got their cousin, a fisher, along with every squirrel and ermine in the area 😂 Cat trapping is definitely heating up right now. Seeing lots of tracks of paired up cats. Wish I’d of put double cubbies or a scent post close bye at on all my sets. Next yr.

Thought this was funny, this mink found its way a couple hundred yards away from a stream into a bobcat cubby smack into the jaws of a #3 bridger OS.
