Man, does this weather suck!

Went out this morning to traditional cold weather open water spots only to find them locked up with ice. Our go to spots that are always open have succumb to the bitter cold. Hiked out and scouted. We did find a puddle of open water in a place I haven't hunted in years and smacked a teal. I think we can almost stick a fork in duck season this year.

Three more weekends to go here on the west side and it is really going well. Ice here is a blessing. I'll put the fork in the duck poppers!

Went by my pond again today. 50ft hike and 150 mallards. Gonna get em again sunday. Rain and wind on the menu. Most of the ducks are sitting on the ice. Spinner wasnt very effective yesterday. I switched to a 5 duck jerk string. Game on. 10 yd shots again
