2024 Coyotes
« on: January 02, 2024, 01:31:42 PM »
Time for a new thread.  Post your 2024 coyote success (and failure) stories, photos, and videos here.

Mods: can you make this a sticky?  And maybe un-stick the old 2022 thread? Thanks.

Thanks Rainier.

My brother and I went last night and made 2 stands with thermal and digital nightvision. We got one on our second stand.  I let him take the shot, so I'm still at 0 for the year.

More night calling. This one snuck in behind us.  I let my buddy take the shot.

Eastern Oregon. Lost the remote to my foxpro so went out with just a couple of hand calls. Had a pair come in hot, couldn't get a shot on the second one.

Nice!  I hope to go hunt coyotes down there sometime.  With 3 young kids, it might be a few years.

First yote for me a couple days ago. Shot on stand 4 of 12, the only one I called in all day. Welcome to Hunt private land in OR.

Did another 10 stands on NF land today and, despite being around relatively fresh tracks in the snow for each stand, no action... :dunno:

I've spent a few hours on the skinning pole and fleshing beam in the past few weeks. Brought four home the other night which is a record for me. Never have brought home more than three in 20 years until now. Should have skinned them warm because skinning four cold coyotes is not fun.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I finally got around to editing videos from a few coyotes I shot over the past few months.  I've currently got 22 for the year.

My wife killed her first on Saturday. 120 yard offhand shot with the 6.5 PRC did this mangy dude a favor. Definitely wouldn’t have survived the winter.

Nice. My seems like around me on the west side this was an average year. My cousin in NE WA said they are very thick over there this year.
