Green Diamond Black Bear
« on: January 04, 2024, 06:25:11 PM »
So I recently bought a Walk-In Only permit for Green Diamond land so that my dog and I can forage and I as I dove deeper into my research I got to thinking about possibly doing some archery fall bear hunting this year on their land. Anybody have any luck putting down a bear or seeing any bears while out and about doing their thing on Green Diamond land? Just curious. I'm loving the clear cuts and how close to home it is. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanx yall.

Hmm that is one critter I have not seen in green diamond.  Deer and elk but never seen a bear there.  I am sure they are there but in the few years I have hunted it, I have not seen one.  Be interested in any bear info as well.

Look into their policy for fire-danger closures before you get your hopes up. This year, Hancock Timber closed their land from 24 July to 22 September, which included the first 52 days of fall bear season.

I've had a Green Diamond motorized permit for I think 4 years now, the only time I remember there being a fire danger closure was a couple years ago when absolutely everything was shut down.  Compared to Weyco and Hancock they are much more lenient and "hunter friendly" in my experience.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
