Well I cancelled my reservation made last December and will be taking the wife to Winthrop Rythmn & Blues Festival with Hot Air Balloon Ride instead (she's wanted to take to the skies for a long time) - it will be the 1st convention (& meeting) I have missed in 8 years. I will definitely miss my volunteer friends and wish all the very best, but is anyone really surprised ....  :bash:

TT said "For additional questions, please contact Lyle Galloway at the number or email listed below.  Cell phone# 360-201-1775  lylegalloway@clearwire.net". The plan was to have the state contest then, but Lyle would be able to verify it is still happening ....  :twocents:

We are going to have a calling contest, it's been rough lately trying to get anything started but YES we will have one, tell everyone to come to it, I beleive it's a 10 or 15 dollar entry and if we get ten or more it will be a sanctioned calling contest. I just got done emailing Lyle so he can get me the flyer PDF and I can start hanging them out. When I find out more I'll post it. Besides I need to rematch Fishhunt247 he whooped me down at Cablea's this winter ;)

It is a fun time for sure, like most folks I talk to about it is it's two and a half day event of eating, drinking and shooting the bull about turkeys or whatever, we usually have a small live auction to hlp pay for the event itself, lots of the members donate stuff to it, I'll be brewing up my own BBQ sauce to give away amongst other stuff. But all in all it's just a weekend BBQ with a whole lot of freinds hanging out. We take the kids and dogs and lawn chairs and relax.

Haha. We were really close in points I think. And the surprise factor is gone now. That was funny, nobody had ever seen me before, I'm sure I just looked like another dumb kid.  :) If there is a contest, I'm in. Keep us posted.

You're both lucky that the Dancer was emcee at Cabelas or I would have given you both a run for your money    :lol4:    :chuckle:

Course I never really cared about any calling contests, just wanted to be good enough to call the birds in close ... since I've had their heads by my pants pockets and had them land on my boots, I guess I could consider that I have been somewhat successful.   :whoo:

I will miss seeing you guys this year and the calling contest too, but as mentioned earlier I'm taking the real boss (wife) hot air ballooning and for rythmn and blues (Winthrop) instead.

Just can't see it being any fun spending a weekend around the wannabee boss (RD) ....
