Where's the news story? Is this so common now that something like this wouldn't make the news?

From past experiences with WDF$wolves they would just a soon it didn't hit the papers, usually the only way it hits the paper is if it's reported on the Methow bulletin board.
From my understanding wolves caused a lot of problems in the Methow Valley last summer, none of it made it into the local rag..

I can positively assure you that there are a ton of wolf incidents in Okanogan County that don't make the internet.

It might make the news if its a little gal walking her dog that gets nailed.    Thats a popular past time on many of those local backcountry roads in wolf country

Up Texas creek four wolves came into a yard and killed a german Shepard, owner was at work, wolves ate everything but the head and paws.

The owner is pro-wolf, don't know if he still is.

Isn't there a law against feeding predators

When stuff like this happens I get a smile when it happens to the libaturd tree huggers.
I'm happy for his wife or whatever it is for getting a front row seat and seeing it up and close.

I think a better way to say this is to say they were mugged  by reality.

The I told you so dance may feel good, but does stating it this way help? I cant say I haven't thought the same thing. If we want to WAG our finger as we slide into the abyss our current approach will take there.

 If, in fact, the dog owners are wolf supporters, my guess is they will be apologists for the wolves, saying the wolves have a right to be there and survive, bla, bla, bla. Hell, I'm sure they will be brainwashed into believing they were in the wrong for even owning a dog. Damn colonist, wolf enslaving sunsabiches!

Just a FWIW, Anyone living in these rural areas that has first hand knowledge of wolf attacks on pets, needs to make sure that the main stream news hear about it. The non-hunting public (a group of people, hunters should be coveting) care very little about wildlife or livestock. Pets however, there's something that the single woman living in an apartment in the metropolis or the soccer mom living in the suburbs of the Puget Sound may actually pay attention to and care about. Seeing and hearing on the news about a woman having to watch her family's pet get killed and devoured by wolves is golden in terms of information that will start turning the tide on the sentiment toward the wolves. Anyone who knows anything about wolves and their penchant for any animal that walks or flies knows that this experiment won't end well for wolves. It may take a while but there was a reason people over the centuries have kept the wolves at bay. The people that live a nice comfortable existence in a place protected by miles of concrete need to hear about things like this every time it happens. A lot of these people want to leave the Urban blanky on the weekends to spend time in the outdoors. Things like this may give them pause and make them think twice about planning a few days in the countryside. Any time the masses have to consider an issue like this, it may get us to the end of this experiment just a little sooner.

She's probably basking in the attention she is getting from her peer group.
