« on: January 23, 2024, 08:03:10 PM »
S&W 1854 lever gun. New for 2024. A new manufacturer in the lever game. Should be a hit. .44mag only at this time.

I saw that and a little review from a friend at SHOT... interested but would have to hold one before judgement...

$1300 for a lever with a safety no thanks. $3500 for the limited addition I think not.
You gonna draw those pistols or whistle Dixie?

I think a basic .460 made by bighorn is a little over $2500 for the deposit  :chuckle:

I did not see the price. I’m with you, that is a bit too much for that gun.

$1300 MSRP may seem like a lot but you have to remember this is not 1974 look at the price of new Marlins and Winchesters

They should single handingly battle the anti gun folks, lower their gun prices, and fly the pride flag.

Look like a gaggle of fun for 1300 bucks. I know a ton of guys with 10x that in a rifle that is boring as hell to shoot.

Will certainly be checking them out

Msrp on a new Henry is a couple hundred dollars less and they look better. I wouldn’t buy a new Winchester ruger or marlin either. Jm marlins and pre 64 model 94s can be had for less than $1000.

No id probably shoot my eye out :chuckle: but I can’t be the only one in the world that’s tired of every gun being plastic and coming with threaded muzzles and ugly knurled thread protectors. Must be what the market wants… sorry for disrupting the thread I’ll leave now.

$1300 MSRP.... it will likely be $1100 for normal pricing...will fall in line with everything else.

Watched a few videos on it. Just can't dig that blocky, tactical look. Maybe for the zombie apocalypse.

I've been casually looking for a stainless, threaded barrel 30-30 lever for a fun predator calling gun. Want to be able to use the suppressor. The S&W would be perfect if they were making it in that caliber.

I appreciate both styles. Wouldn't mind a more traditional style in a larger caliber and modern style in 30-30. Can't imagine the Aero lever will be cheap though.

Well S&W sold howa rifles for awhile with there name on them.
So I would definitely wondering if they haven't teamed up with marlin/Ruger.
Then they bought Thompson center, building a new bolt action rifle.
So they have slapped there name on product before and sold it.

What's with all the tactical lever actions coming to market lately ? Dumbest trend ever .

It's crazy but it is a HUGE trend

This year S&W, Aero and Stag Arms (same ownership) have new guns along with Winchester bringing back the .22 lever gun.

a little off topic, but the last time I was at sportsman’s, they didn’t have a single wood stocked rifle on the rack, either.

Really wish I could turn back the clock about 10 years, there just isn’t anything new in the shooting world that I can get excited about anymore.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I’d like to have one of these, or more likely a Henry. I’m not a huge fan of buying first year products. I do prefer a blued /walnut stocked rifle for the nostalgia aspect, but a lever gun in a big bore makes a nice utility rifle. 357 would pair nicely with a good revolver too.
