I went in Maui with a guide a few years ago that does high fence and not high fence properties. It was early December and about half of them had already dropped their horns. I think they go hard horned around April or May or whenever the season is open on Lanai, and start dropping horns in November/December - whoever you’re hunting with should have a more definitive answer. Good eats for sure, I kept the hide and got it tanned and a local taxidermist did a Euro mount and mailed it to me. We froze the meat and packed it in cheap Rubbermaid coolers, duct taped them shut, and then put them into checked baggage and it was pretty easy. Best of luck to you, it’s a fun little addition to being in paradise.
