Enjoy! Sounds like it's going to be one hell of a trip.

So jealous! It should be a grand adventure!

Dang! That’s so cool! Excited to read your write up about the trip! One of my top bucket list trips!

Just watch the storms they can roll in on you and catch you pretty good.  At least one or 2 people a year die up their getting caught off guard.  Be safe, and just don't explore the BWCA.  If you get a chance, drive up the shore of Lake Superior, some awesome country there.  Also if you get a chance and it is still open.  Soudan underground iron ore mine.  Awesome place to visit.  Go underground about a 1/2 mile.  You will literally be in my backyard.

Flying into Minneapolis on Friday the 13th yikes. Driving to Duluth in a rental car and meeting my buddy who lives there. Gear dump Saturday morning, go through to see what we need and don’t need, then driving north. Have to be at Tuscarora Outfitters before 5 to get my permit then to Gunflint Lodge for the night. We got one of the little bunkhouse cabins and dinner at the lodge. Then we take off Sunday morning. We come back to Gunflint on Friday the 20th. I fly home on Sunday the 22nd.

Don't be afraid to veer off course if something looks interesting. Funny story; On one trip two of us broke off for a day to go a few lakes over to a lake that was supposed to have brook trout in it. Best bite I've ever been on to this day. Later that year or the next year (it was many moons ago) the two of us went up with a cooler full of dry ice with a plan to bring a couple of those big beauties home and have them mounted. We got skunked, but the dry ice made for some great bubbly vodka and Kool-Aid drinks!

Flying tomorrow. Headed to the Gunflint Saturday. Hitting the water Sunday morning. I’ll provide all the dirt in a little over a week. So excited. Currently freaking out about all the things I’m forgetting.
