$3 million per year
« on: February 25, 2024, 07:00:54 PM »
Delta Waterfowl testified in front of congress asking for $3 million a year for their hen house projects because of the same basic points I have talked about.  Unfortunately been told to stop crying, bitching, and complaining when asking for nothing.   A former hunting partner even retaliated before knowing anything of his problem talking about this subject is only being negative in a blanket statement of his with no reasons given when asked.

I went to a delta banquet in Spokane this past summer. They do quite a few activities and events in this area to include youth hunts, sporting clays shoots and habitat projects etc…

Boxes and hen houses are easy projects we can all do in an afternoon. Locating can be tough but networking here and other sites will be helpful.

Does delta have a Washington chapter? Banquet?

There has been a Columbia River chapter for several years, that has benefited the Sw Washington area. There is a new chapter started in the Longview area recently, not sure if they have a banquet set yet.

Was out & set up 4 of their hen nesting boxes on Saturday. It’s a cool setup that’s fast & easy to set up. I think they were @ $100 each.

I know I could look online but does anyone have the plans to build a nesting box? I’ll make some and put them up at some areas I’m pretty sure I’ve seen hens with ducklings in the past. Thanks!

I had my kids each make one. Great carpentry lesson. Only took an hour. We placed them at our park on the local river.

I’m thinking the same thing. Great project for the kiddos

I invited a former hunting partner to build some nests with his family for my other place but he stuck up his nose at me and his family it felt.  Oh well, have very good grass I believe a few hens use it and fawns even bed down in there.
