« on: June 13, 2024, 07:45:44 AM »
are you kidding me. we are on cloud 9 right now what a graduation gift to my son. this kid had 8 points and pulled this tag unbelievable. This is going to be a blast. been turkey hunting this area for ten years now. so kind of know the area. let the scouting begin ill be putting a lot of miles on my truck that's for sure. and his uncles and grandpa are going to be there its going to be a memory for life. he don't care if it not a bull he just wants to hunt moose its a dream come true for him. since he has been ten he told me he wanted a moose tag lol. god is good, he is blessed, pm me if you have any pointers or leads you would like to share maybe a road or two to check out. still cant believe it.

Congratulations to you and your son on a lifetime experience..... that said I continue to write the department and commission begging them to end cow hunts for at least 5-7 years in WA as our calf recruitment continues to be terrible.  We're literally killing off any chance for the numbers to improve in the future and slowly cutting our throat when it comes to moose.

That said if you have a tag and want to hunt the more power to you both.  I'm a lifelong moose lover and would be conflicted if I drew.

yeah i hear you on that. we would absolutely would rather have a bull tag. i dont personally put in for cows. but as far as i go its still a oil and if we don't do it someone else will or the wolves and cougar and bear will eat them.  might as well put in for it since its a option and hope for the best and have the best time in the woods than we have had in a long time. fill are freezer while we are at it. gods creation is beautiful and he gave us this opportunity its all part of the plan and we will be humbled and appreciate every second. lets just hope part of the plan is to harvest.

Me too! I also apply to just toss it in the garbage! There’s not a single moose unit in this state that should have a single cow harvested! Unbelievable to me with the massive predation in those units. 10 years ago yes.. not today .
