Finally got the approval on August 21st.  Started the process February 2nd. 

It is getting mailed out today, now that the 7 day waiting period is over for notification to my local law enforcement.
Why were you given a 7 day waiting period for an NFA item after it was approved?

All I know is Silencer Central, in their email to me said they are required to notify my local LEO that they are shipping a silencer, and have to wait 7 days after confirmation.

I'll eat crow sometime if I can ever find the answer to why they do that. It's not a new step in their process.  If you buy from a store that's in our state, that step is not part of the process.

This one I picked up at a NRA auction.  So yes, next time I will buy locally.  This whole process, with silencer central, was not a very good one.  Customer service is definitely not the best.

I'm glad you and others are getting into suppressors. It's unfortunate that their customer service reputation isn't stellar.

Same local shop I used and same nightmare but worse.

 Just submitted another using Dreadi and man what a different experience! Can't speak highly enough of our local huntwa suppressor dude! I'll be purchasing all my suppressors through him going forward even being on the wrong side of the state from me :tup:

Hey Karl hope the deer hunting is going well. You may have to get a lawn chair to set out in the lake to hunt with how hot it’s supposed to be the next couple days. How many trips over the pass  did it require to get your suppressor? 1 to fill out paperwork, etc. and one to pick up? or could you do everything digitally with Dreadi and then just go over to get it when you are cleared?

Just talked with someone at silencer central regarding the 7 day notice to local law enforcement.  He said that because the silencer is be mailed, and not over the counter, that they are required to notify before shipping.

So yes, I will be using a local next time I get one.

Most everything with me is remote except for pickup. There are a few options for fingerprints including doing them yourself from home, coming to me, or any Silencer Shop dealer with a kiosk.
