Hoping to get out, only lasted long enough for a couple days last year…fishing was awesome!

I was out yesterday, but very tough fishing conditions where I was fishing with the 15-20 mph winds hitting us. Clay Banks was much calmer for 40 boats with few fish. So far it looks like a few folks have gotten some fish about 1 per 10 anglers in Marine Area 11, but most of my network has the same story of difficult fishing. It was 1 in 4 for MA10 on the opener, but 1 in 10 yesterday with that big south wind.

The good news is that people aren't hooking many sub-legals so the fishing is likely going to continue to be open. Remember in 2022, it basically made it the entire month of March.

I expect fishing to get easier with the weather hopefully moderating into next weekend, but if you're going out expecting June or August fishing success, you will be disappointed.
