Smith Island Cleanup Sunday March 17th 9:30am

WWA Smith Island Clean up and get together/tour
On Sunday March 17th Washington Water Fowl Association is
holding its Annual Smith Island clean up.
This location has become an increasingly popular waterfowl
hunting area.

Boats will be meeting at the Marysville Ebey Waterfront
Boat Launch at 9:30 am. Kayakers and Walkers will meet at the
Smith Island Habitat and Wildlife viewing area at 10:00 am.
The goal is to pick up as much trash off the dike and water
as possible.

A WDFW Private lands Biologist, or an alternate
WDFW Employee will be on hand at the viewing area to answer
questions and manage the dike clean up. If possible a trailer for trash haul out will be available.

Tom Elliott from WWA NW Chapter will coordinate boats at the
Marysville Boat Launch and lead the water clean up off union slough.
If you or your club/organization is looking to help keep our resources
open and clean, looking to get to know the area and the wildlife
that uses it, please come and give us a hand.

Trash bags and haul out provided.
Long handle nets, muck boots or waders as needed.
If you can bring a boat that has extra room for volunteers
it would be much appreciated.

For more info contact:

Tom Elliott 425-220-6567 or tom.elliott.fish@gmail.com
Hunters, Birders, Walkers, Kayakers are all invited to help.

I participated last year. It was a good chance to learn a new area to hunt and picked up a pile of junk. Even found a carbon fiber paddle to add as a spare to the boat!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

How did it go?
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.
