Best arrow set up

Lastly my original arrow setup was 400 spine / 100 gr broadhead at 398 gr total weight. I wasn't happy with the performance on animals penetration wise, I knew i was too light. My new setup my total arrow weight is 460 gr with maybe 30 gr extra forward counting broadhead.  My new setup consistently is 4 to 5 inches deeper in my practice target when shooting both and surprisingly still today my point of impact didn't change out to 40 yards with the heavier arrow. I only moved the 50 yard pin very slightly and 60 also a little more. I haven't done extensive testing or copied anything I read , I just went slimmer & a little heavier with great results.

BE Spartan, 125 Evo w/bleeders. Been very happy with this combo, those D6 Evo's are beyond deadly.

Straight arrow, properly tuned bow, and SHARP broadleaf is far more important than FOC, weight, etc.  Lack of penetration is usually due to dull blades and or poor arrow flight. Dull blades tear flesh more than they cut resulting in more drag and poor bleeding.

So many folks will replace blades or sharpen blades then pull them in and out of a quiver for early and late season, get them wet on raining days, shoot them into targets at camp, etc. All those things dull blades. Hell even just leaving blades exposed to the open air will oxidize the blade edge to the point of being dull. Maintain those edges boys! Sharpen them or replace them. Replacement blades are cheap in the grand scheme of things. I'll swap blades mid week on a hunt.

So at 60 your groups are pretty consistent without having to mess with your pin too much?

That’s 100% accurate taking the blades out of your quiver in and out definitely can full them along with just leaving them out

Yes , my broadheads fly just as accurately as field points out to 60 yards . Very happy with my setup . As stated my bow is tuned, I spin test all arrows getting the best combo of arrow & broadhead possible. All the usual stuff to get prepared.

Right on. That’s the important part, making sure everything is tuned I planned on getting my bow string redone in the next week or two so I’ll be getting the tune up and I’ll probably go with a 25grain insert and a 125 grain broad idk I gotta see how it fly’s but definitely will need a stiffer spine
