Give Allterra a look. I put together a 7PRC with their C2 action and a CarbonSix prefit and am extremely happy. Terminus actions are also top notch.
Sounds like you have your mind made up to go custom which is cool. I got a Fierce Carbon Rage in 7mm PRC. It shoots 1/2 moa all day long with factory Hornady 175gr eld-x ammo. I've stretched it out to 1,400 yards so far. Killed my whitetail at 550 this yr. Super happy, pretty much the same components of a custom gun (minus an adjustable chassis) and no wait time. And it kicks like my kids 7mm-08. My 300wsm Tikka was miserable to shoot.
I am looking to start a new build. I have a pretty good stash of H-1000, 168 grain Bergers, and large rifle, and magnum primers. Currently have a 7mm rem mag but the barrel is about done. I might do something in any of the listed calibers as long as the components I have will be of use. Bullets seem to be the more difficult thing to get my hands on. This year's deer I harvested at 535 yards but probably can't see shooting much further than 700. What say the masses?

It my first custom rifle but I love 7MM’s.
If you're shooting elk at 700 yards you may want a little more punch.I rebarreled a Sako Finnbear to 33 Nosler with a brake and it shoots like a house on fire. You can shoot anything from a 200 to a 270 grain bullet. My choice is the 270 ELDX at about 2850 FPS.Deadly and accurate, although I use RL 19 and not the H 1000 which you have.Recoil with the brake is fairly mild and you never have to worry about having enough oomph. As a side note, I have a Tikka TX# superlight in 7MM Mag and it shoots lights out.I have killed a few elk with it out to 450 yards using 160 Grain Speer Hot Cores. It too is an elk killing combo. If you have a standard length action, I would stick with a standard length cartridge, which the 33 Nosler is.Good Luck with your project.Rob.

Can't tell from the picture? Nice looking set up though. It’s a Lone Peak action. I went with a Pure Precision stock when they were on sale. I am really happy with the stock.
Just bought a Fierce Carbon Rogue 7PRC and got it shooting 175 Berger Elite Hunters @ 2940fps (22in barrel) with H4831SC - nice groups averaging 1/2 inch. Pretty sure im gonna like this gun-Except the noise of a brake LOL But its light so its a compromise
