Good point, Ironhead - I was mainly referring to the last day meat hunt for someone that has yet to shoot a deer with a bow.  By all means, you should be trying to shoot a nice buck.

halflife65, thanks for the info, and I hope for some snow, lol. I wouldn't pass on a nice 3pt.:) It's not any deer, it's buck only that my tag is for. I'll be doing a lot of scouting between now and then to get the lay of the land, I'd like a big one if I can find one, maybe the one you saw, huh,lol...

Ironhead, I won't shoot a doe, I prefer to shoot the male species, lol, I mean a buck, a big buck, with big steaks and roast's if you know what I mean. But I hope to shoot something, even a BIG 2pt. is better than nothing and wasting my tag. This is the hunt of my lifetime:)

The Entiat C is for "any buck" so the does are safe.  Taking a buck will be a challenge.  You will see a lot of deer and many bucks but getting a good clean kill is another story.  Hope that first arrow hits the mark.  Enjoy the stalk and enjoy the experience.  We hope you come home with some venison but you surely will go home with an experience of a life time.

This unit is mostly public lands with very few gates.  If we have a normal winter, you will appreciate 4 wheels with chains.  It is all open country and easy to hunt but  steep country.
