Machias' 2024 Idaho Spring Bear
« on: April 17, 2024, 07:34:50 AM »
Yehaw, that time of the year again.  Going to run 3 baits this spring.  Going to put the first one out tonight.  Picked up about 900 pounds of bait day before yesterday.  One 55 gallon barrel of cookies, one 55 gallon barrel of assorted candies, one 55 gallon barrel of Trix and yogurt crunchies and 20 pails of pink buttercream frosting.  I'll share photos along the way.

Got my first bait put out Friday and my second bait out yesterday around noon.  Had a bear on bait #2 a little after nine.  Ok size, but looks a little thin on the hair, particularly on his face.  I'll post some photos tonight.  Got one more bait to put out tomorrow night.

Very nice, got mine out Thursday morning and had a small chocolate with decent fur on it Saturday morning.  And a skunk.  Need to get my other ones out next week.

You won't even need to shoot it; it'll be in a hyperglycemia coma!

Best of luck with the baits!  Not sure how you are going to find time to check them and fish in that new boat every day...  But that is a good problem to have!

Tried a new camera mount.  Did not hold up well. No photos of bears tonight.  :chuckle: :dunno:
