Recommendations for warm clothing

Heading to Montana this November and in the market to buy some warmer clothes. Puffys, bibs etc. wondering what people are recommending out there for insulated, wind breaker type clothing. What worked for you? Brand?model? Etc. thank you in advance!! Also boots! What kept your feet warm and dry??

I like merino wool for my base & mid layers. Anything with gore windstopper is great for blocking the wind. I love my polar tec fleece. It does a good job of blocking the wind, is warm, sheds water pretty well & dries fast when it gets wet. When is cold & the wind is blowing I wear my Sitka Stratus beanie. By far the best & warmest stocking hat I’ve ever worn. I have a Sitka Jetstream jacket I wear for wind. It’s warmer than you think it would be, but maybe not enough for you in Montana in November. I wear it into the high 30s if I’m moving around. For a light puffy I wear the Scheel's store brand & haven’t been disappointed. I wear it into the low 20s. Colder than that I wear my duck hunting parka.

Wool! Specifically Alpaca for head and hands but then Merino for base layer against skin. Heavy pants and coat/shirt. It's heavy when wet but you're still warm. Can literally take any weather that mother nature throws at ya. If you have a decent rain shell to keep yourself dry in the really bad stuff, then you can just enjoy the hunt. Have fun!

Different requirements. Multiple Light layers are your friend. Also, make sure you have Calories to eat, to keep your body in the Zone.

I did a November late hunt in CO and purchased a set of insulated Sitka bibs. That did the trick. If you're a veteran, Sitka will give you 40% off on your purchases. You have to produce your DD214 and you get the pro pricing.

kuiu super down pro is real hard to get cold in, i’ve stayed toasty warm in single digits with wind blowing
