Figured I'd post a few pics from the weekend. Not the best conditions but we shot a few fish!

I miss bowfishing The Potholes! Probably wont get over there again though.
I decided to try cooking up a Carp and found they are quite good eating and take smoke well. Been eating them since until we moved and I stopped going over there.
Pressure cooking after brining and before smoking to eliminate (they dissolve) the Y bones is key unless you like eating around them.
The ones in Lake Wa are Not recommended for eating because of the pollution on the bottom of the lake.

Several years back Silver Arrow Bowmen went over and shot a bunch. One guy deep fried chunks like catfish. Were pretty good, not high table fair but not bad like everyone claims. I think they taste better coming out of cold water than the summer fish

I've never actually ate them but I've heard good things if they're prepared right. Also smoked I guess.

The spawn is normally around the summer equinox

There was some spawning around the 11th cold weather and wind shut it down for the weekend of the 18th. Could be on again tomorrow.

Then the next day there was nothing. We didn't know if it was because we shot a bunch the day before or the spawn just stopped. We've hit the spawn before but this was incredible. Literally carp swimming everywhere

Looks like fun!
Against my better judgement I tried some smoked, canned carp from over that way several years ago. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was!
