Welcome to the web site. Alta quality permit needs to be revised to Alta buck permit and dumping a bunch of preference points on the unit is no longer justified.

Unfortunately it takes a bunch of preference points to draw in 90% of any units in this state now a days

:yeah:
This unit has been on a steady decline for 14 or 15 years. Had a buddy who had the tag last year. He saw one shoot buck in 10 days. But he wasn’t the only one that saw the buck and it was shot while he was getting in shooting position. Ended up with a smaller palmated 3 point. I as well would not cash out my points on this tag. If I had 1-3 points I would consider putting in.

So it can be the hardest tag to draw in the state? :chuckle: Like that BS bull category and grande ronde tag has some of the worst elk tag odds in the state
