Blind for Hang On Tree Stand Ideas
« on: May 10, 2024, 11:29:16 AM »
I've got a blind set up for archery bear hunting in Idaho over bait.  Every animal in the forest seems to know I'm there, because the second I leave, everything from turkeys to ravens to skunks shows up on my camera.  I want to put some blind material around my stand, but it is a very cheap and simple hang on stand.  What ideas does everyone have to get some kind of netting up that is quick to deploy and easy to carry?

I was thinking about buying one of the turkey-style ground blind setups like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9MXQ52 and maybe try to hang it from the sides, since it already has SOME structure.

Surely someone must have done this before... looking for any recommendations to break up my vis a little.

I've seen them but never used one , there are all kinds of products specifically made for this. Probably come with supports to hold it straight etc , and they are all cheap. Pretty sure I've seen them setup at cabelas if u want to see one in person or 20 choices on Amazon . Probably way easier and cheaper than building something. Good luck.

I've seen hang on tree stands that just have native brush and tree limbs zip ties to the bottom foot platform.
Then you kinda weave stuff together, making an upside down umbrella kinda look.

Bears seem to be almost blind. Not really blind but they definitely don’t see you. Until they are standing at the base of your stand looking at you and trying to smell what you are. Enough of those type of encounters will change how you feel about Bear lol

Ended up buying this one and sticking the legs into the base of the stand.  Its very lightweight and packable.  I think I'll take it to my elk stand this year!  Didn't cover me completely, but covered my legs and would've made it nice if I wanted to stand to shoot.
