A little different for seaducks, I just paint the boat

See, I never in a million years would try hunting sea ducks upside down like this. Makes sense why I rarely take harvest them, you must teach me your ways!
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

What size mator is that? Is that a plastic room old or fiberglass. I got a little 2hp for my room old. ANY tips for best uses?tips?

It’s a 2hp Honda on a roto molded beavertail final attack. It gets me there, but it definitely doesn’t get on plane with 250# (me and gear). I typically am not going more than a 1/4 mile, I’d like to have a 4-5 hp. The custom rebuild boat which will be my new tender is almost finished. It will pack 2 beavertail layout boats and has a duckwater style seaduck blind.

Trust me, you can feel upside down and backwards after freezing your bum off waiting for a flight on a January morning on the salt. Those little layaways are wild when the weather kicks up, that or when a sealion or orca comes too close to your longline drop.

I have a work in progress I started towards the end of last season. It's an old 10' flat bottom, I use it to get to a spot, set decoys then drag it on shore to hunt out of. Frame is emt conduit, found a website called makerpipe that has all kinds of connections to build about anything you can think up.

I’m in the same position.  Boat is ready to hunt but I need to add paint, blind, or?
With no dog, I’m worried about having to drop the blind to retrieve birds.

I grew up hunting sheet water in fields or jump shooting off of dikes, and only really started chasing birds from a boat in the last 5 years or so. I have lost dozens of birds in that time just taking my eyes off of them to drop the blind and get the boat out of whatever cover I had it in, look up and theyre completely gone, spend 20 minutes going in circles looking and never finding them.

My new 4 legged hunting partner has been working and training hard and may drown herself before letting a bird get away, which is the solution I came up with. Before that, I just stopped going alone to spots that didnt give me a quick and clear path back to the boat and out to the spread. This is going to be a problem you will run into, and you will lose birds, there is no way to completely eliminate that. You will need to figure out a few ways to make it happen less often.
